The ideal candidate should have a degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering, with acceptable consideration for other engineering disciplines coupled with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products. The candidate must be admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and possess a high level of academic achievement, along with solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience. Superb writing and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

 

Duties:

  • Assisting in patent prosecution for medical devices and mechanical engineering innovations.
  • Collaborating with inventors, engineers, and legal colleagues to understand and assess technical concepts.
  • Drafting and preparing patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Conducting legal research to support patent prosecution efforts.
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex technical documents and translating them into patent applications.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering; other engineering disciplines with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products will be considered.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • High level of academic achievement.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
