Job Overview: A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced Defense Attorney focusing on personal injury and/or insurance defense. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience, exceptional research and writing skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Spanish fluency is highly preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Respond to discovery requests and motions.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Prepare for and represent clients at trials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff on case strategy and execution.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in personal injury and/or insurance defense.
  • Barred in Texas, with active membership in good standing.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proactive, responsible, diligent, and responsive work ethic.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is strongly preferred.
  • Admission to Texas federal courts is strongly preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in Texas.
