Overview:

Deloitte Tax Senior Managers are experienced professionals in accounting and taxation who provide compliance and consulting services to clients in the Real Estate industry. This role requires a solid understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules. The Tax Senior Manager will work directly with clients and manage the tax engagement team, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and data analytics. This role also involves mentoring and developing junior staff and providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance.

Responsibilities:

- Assisting clients with life events for partnerships, inside and outside basis computations, and Schedule K-1 processing
- Using proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes and achieve worldwide compliance
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships in the real estate industry
- Advising clients on various tax issues, including REIT qualification, Tax Reform impact on passthroughs and other Real Estate clients, business restructuring, and tax controversy
- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects using state-of-the-art technology and data analytics
- Managing engagement workflow, team resources, and billing
- Mentoring and developing junior staff, including those in the . India office

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work within a hybrid work model (in-person 2-3 days per week)
- 8+ years of total corporate or international tax experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office or eligible to sit for the CPA exam
- Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, or certifications such as CFA or CFP
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and client needs

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm
- Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Management experience
