Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Boca Raton, FL, seeks an Associate Attorney to manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters primarily. The candidate will draft and review all pleadings and claims filed, respond to objections and motions, attend hearings, and provide general bankruptcy inquiries.

Duties:

• Manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters
• Draft and review all pleadings and claims filed in the particular matter
• Respond to objections and motions involving client rights
• Attend scheduled hearings
• Respond to general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Law degree - JD
• 1 year of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience
• Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code
• Experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases
• Solid understanding of consumer loan documents
• Exceptional work ethic and a high degree of professionalism
• High level of attention to detail and organization
• Effective time management skills
• Excellent communication skills

Education and Certifications:

• Law degree - JD
• Admission to practice law in Florida
• Admission to the Federal Districts in Florida
• Familiarity with Florida bankruptcy courts, local rules, and court procedures
• Admissions in other jurisdictions (strong plus)

Skills:

• Advanced computer literacy
• Ability to learn and utilize different case management systems
• Familiarity with the CM/ECF filing system
• Multi-tasking ability and meeting strict deadlines
