Job Description:

- The Florida Attorney General's Internship Program offers law students an opportunity to gain practical experience in a legal field and contribute to meaningful work while completing their degree.
- Interns will have the chance to work on criminal appeals and death penalty litigation in state and federal courts, as well as provide legal assistance to state attorneys.
- The program is open to students enrolled in an accredited ABA law school and offers unpaid internships for academic credit or through participation in law school sponsored programs.
- Applicants must be able to intern a minimum of 20 hours per week, and the number and locations of internships available each term will vary based on agency need.
- The application deadlines for the program are as follows: Summer: January 31, Fall: June 30, Spring: September 30.
- Interested students are encouraged to apply early as applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- To be considered for an internship, applicants must submit an application, resume, letter from their advisor or university confirming eligibility for academic credit or participation in a law school sponsored program, and an official transcript.
- 2nd and 3rd year law students may also be required to provide a writing sample at the time of interview if selected.
- The program is open to all law students regardless of citizenship, but applicants must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 3 days of employment.
- Interns will not be compensated by or eligible for benefits with the State of Florida or the Office of the Attorney General, except for Worker's Compensation benefits.
- Participation in the program is voluntary and does not create an employment relationship with the State of Florida or the Office of the Attorney General.
