## Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office ### Job Summary The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (APA) is responsible for representing the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office in all adult criminal and/or juvenile court proceedings. The APA will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of criminal and/or juvenile court cases, including the investigation, evaluation, and presentation of cases to the court. The APA will also provide legal advice to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office and its staff. ### Duties and Responsibilities - Investigate, evaluate, and present criminal and/or juvenile court cases to the court - Provide legal advice to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office and its staff - Represent the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office in all adult criminal and/or juvenile court proceedings - Prepare and present criminal and/or juvenile court cases - Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations - Monitor and advise on legal developments affecting the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office - Collaborate with other agencies and organizations - Develop and maintain relationships with other prosecutors, judges, and court personnel - Prepare appeals and other legal documents - Attend court proceedings and hearings - Prepare legal opinions - Develop and lead training programs for prosecutors and other legal professionals - Provide advice and guidance to prosecutors and other legal professionals - Represent the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office in meetings and conferences - Perform other duties as assigned ### Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree - Juris Doctorate - Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section of the Ohio Revised Code - At least two years of adult criminal and/or juvenile court prosecution (or equivalent) experience - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Excellent organizational, problem solving, and critical thinking skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks - Ability to deal with stressful situations - Knowledge of criminal and/or juvenile court proceedings - Knowledge of legal research and writing - Knowledge of legal principles and procedures - Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws ### Salary and Benefits The starting salary for the Assistant Prosecuting Attorney position is commensurate with the level of experience.
