Key Responsibilities:

- Report to the General Counsel and handle legal projects related to commercial and consumer lending, transactional work, regulatory issues, Fintech, litigation management, and bankruptcy.
- Provide legal advice to minimize risk and capitalize on business opportunities.
- Work closely with all levels of management, staff, and departments within the company.
- Handle day-to-day loan related issues and provide legal support on general transactional matters.
- Coordinate responses and advise on third party discovery.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and letters of understanding.
- Conduct legal research and ensure company compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Interact with regulatory agencies and other parties related to loan transactions.
- Assist in litigation management.
- Effectively communicate with the business unit through written and oral communication.

Qualifications:

- 3-5 years of related legal experience in financial services, banking, contract drafting, or insurance.
- Specialized advanced degree (PhD, .) required.
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois (and in good standing with the Illinois bar).
- Advanced computer skills required.
