What You’ll Do: - Provide state tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in the investment management industry. - Work on large, complex multistate tax projects and have access to outstanding resources. - Perform technical reviews of state and local tax returns and work papers. - Coordinate with clients’ internal tax teams. - Review estimated payment, withholding, and composite tax calculations. - Research and analyze state tax legislation and its impact on compliance and investor reporting. - Assist with tax consulting projects, including tax planning, restructuring, and due diligence. - Manage engagement workflow and supervise tax consultants and interns. - Mentor and develop talent in a diverse and inclusive workplace. The Team: - More than 1,500 professionals worldwide with significant experience in nuances of jurisdictions in all 50 states. - Offers investment management services, state income and franchise tax, indirect tax, business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax outsourcing, excise tax, property tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Qualifications: Required: - Ability to work within a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week. - 3+ years of experience in state income and franchise tax or federal tax. - 2+ years of experience in tax planning or preparing and reviewing work papers and income tax returns. - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. - Licensed CPA, attorney, or enrolled agent. - Ability to travel up to 10%, based on work and client needs. Preferred: - Supervisory experience. - Public accounting experience. - Experience in preparation and review of state and local or federal pass-through, corporate tax returns, Subchapter K, or partnership allocation methodologies. - Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills.
