Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly qualified Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical Law Attorney to join their team. The candidate will counsel pharmaceutical, pharmacy, and healthcare clients, addressing various regulatory, contractual, and compliance matters. The ideal candidate should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, be licensed to practice law in New Jersey or New York, and have at least 5 years of experience in the field, focusing on pharmacy, life sciences, and healthcare-related issues.

Job Details:

  • Handle various health insurance, managed care, market access, and regulatory-related issues for pharmaceutical, pharmacy, and healthcare clients.

  • Manage a diverse docket of pharmacy and life sciences regulatory issues.

  • Provide strategic and legal advice to various healthcare and life sciences clients, ranging from start-ups to Fortune 10 companies.

  • Assess operational structures and processes of pharmacies and healthcare/life sciences companies, drafting policies, and standard operating procedures, including assisting in forming effective compliance programs.

  • Analyze and structure arrangements among Life Sciences stakeholders, including contracts between pharmacies and pharmaceutical manufacturers, contracts involving hubs, payor contracts, etc.

  • Draft policies and procedures regarding marketing activities related to pharmacies and drug products.

  • Review commercial contracts, payor and managed care agreements, software licensing agreements, services agreements, and central fill agreements.

  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal interdisciplinary teams of associate attorneys, encompassing contractual, legal, and regulatory analysis and advice.

Requirements:

  • JD degree, with excellent academic credentials.

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey or New York in good standing (or licensed in another state with ability/willingness to become admitted in New Jersey or New York); additional admissions in other states a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in practicing law, with 3 years focusing on Pharmacy, Life Sciences, and/or Healthcare related matters.

  • Experience advising on pharmaceutical pricing managed care access and reimbursement, and government pricing requirements is preferred.

  • Pharmacist, pharmacy technician, doctor, nurse, or other types of clinical background or healthcare industry experience is a plus.

  • Previous supervisory experience is required.

  • Familiarity with healthcare laws and regulations is required.

  • Superior research and writing skills.

  • Strong communication skills.
