Senior Litigation Counsel at Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) - Remote Overview: The Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) is seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel to join our systemic reform team. We are the largest membership organization of asylum seekers in the United States, with over 600,000 members from 175 countries. Our members have access to critical resources and work together to build a more welcoming United States for those fleeing violence. Job Title: Senior Litigation Counsel Organization: Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) Location: Remote (50 . states and ., excluding . territories) Salary: $100,000-$140,000 (commensurate with qualifications and experience) Benefits: Health insurance, 401K matching, generous paid leave, and paid parental leave Responsibilities: - Serve as lead counsel on complex federal impact litigation cases - Ensure clients and members guide strategic direction of litigation docket - Draft and edit legal filings and engage in legal research - Develop new legal theories and strategies - Manage junior attorneys, legal fellows, and interns - Represent ASAP in local, national, and international coalitions and working groups Qualifications: - . degree and admission to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction - 5+ years of relevant litigation experience in federal court (clerkships count) - Demonstrated strategic judgment and case management skills - Excellent legal strategy, analysis, drafting, and editing skills - Excellent oral communication skills, including in legal advocacy and public communication - Strong understanding of race and equity issues - Prior experience working with asylum seekers and immigrants preferred - Experience managing staff a plus - Fluency in Spanish a plus Application Timeline: Applications are being considered on a rolling basis.
