Job Overview: A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have over 12+ years of experience with significant litigation and some trial experience in construction defect and general insurance defense matters.

Duties:

• Handle civil cases through trial, including but not limited to taking depositions, oral argument and hearing attendance, negotiating settlements, and reporting to clients.
• Proficiently handle appearances and assignments with minimal or no supervision.
• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in insurance defense matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Currently licensed to practice law in Florida; additional licensure in other States is a plus.
• Over 12+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Demonstrated proficiency in handling civil cases through trial.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be currently licensed to practice law in Florida.

Skills:

• Litigation and trial experience in construction defect and general insurance defense matters.
• Legal research and writing abilities.
• Negotiation skills.
• Strong oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
