Trial Attorney - South Florida: Job Summary, Essential Job Functions, and Physical Actions Job Title: Trial Attorney - South Florida Location: Remote ( #LI-Remote ) Company: Farmers Department: Legal Salary: Competitive salary based on experience and location, with bonus potential up to 15% of salary Job Summary: Farmers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trial Attorney to join our team in South Florida. In this virtual position, you will be responsible for providing competent, ethical, and diligent representation to clients in all assigned cases. These cases may involve various areas of tort practice, and you will handle matters of moderate to great complexity and/or exposure. You may also assist other attorneys in their cases as assigned by your supervisor. Essential Job Functions: As a Trial Attorney, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Managing cases with unique legal or procedural issues, involving moderate to severe injuries and/or damages - Preparing pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs - Attending hearings, conferences, interviews, trials or arbitrations - Functionally supervising other attorneys who may assist with assigned cases - Consulting with and providing opinions to members of the Claims Department on insurance policy and legal questions - Keeping your supervisor informed of your work and any issues encountered - Maintaining and updating computerized litigation support systems for assigned caseloads Physical Actions: In addition to sedentary work, this job may require the following physical activities: - Carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds - Hearing, seeing, standing, and walking (including up and down stairs and steps) Physical Environment: This job is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment, with some exposure to uncontrollable outside environmental conditions and occasional travel via automobile and/or commercial transportation.
