A law firm seeks an IP Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The candidate will be providing comprehensive legal counsel to clients in matters related to Intellectual Property (IP), with a strong focus on patent and trademark law. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional research and analytical skills, collaborate effectively within a team, and demonstrate expertise in patent preparation and prosecution.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research on IP issues, focusing primarily on patent and trademark law.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including IP-related agreements, legal briefs, and memoranda.
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute patent, trademark, and copyright applications to issuance.
  • Advise and counsel clients on IP protection and enforcement strategies.
  • Manage and maintain IP portfolios.
  • Conduct due diligence for IP and business transactions.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in IP laws and regulations.
  • Handle IP litigation as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, computer/software).
  • Admission to at least one State Bar in the relevant jurisdiction, with the ability to seek admission in Tennessee.
  • Passed the Patent Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience as a licensed patent attorney, with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution.
