As a member of our Business Tax Advisory (BTA) – Federal Tax Advisory (FTA) practice, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the world's largest organizations, middle market and private companies. You will be responsible for solving complex tax issues and translating them into effective tax strategies to help our clients manage the impact of tax on their business. This role will also involve identifying cash tax savings and refund opportunities, as well as providing guidance and direction to our associates.

As a Senior Federal Tax Advisor, you will work closely with nationally recognized professionals and be a trusted business advisor to our clients. Your Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate delivery of effective approaches to our clients' tax needs
- Identify new business opportunities through critical and independent thinking
- Assist in executing client engagements
- Provide timely and high-quality tax research and analysis
- Proactively manage projects to ensure timely delivery of high-quality analysis and client deliverables
- Support the development of client relationships
- Learn and develop specific industry and sector knowledge
- Provide actionable performance feedback and guidance to associates
- Stay current on trends, developments, and technical issues
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and innovate through the use of current tools and emerging technologies

To qualify for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management information systems, or a related field, with approximately four years of related work experience. Alternatively, a graduate degree in tax, law, or management information systems with approximately three years of related work experience will also be considered. A valid US Enrolled Agent, CPA, or licensed attorney designation is required, or you must be eligible to obtain one of these designations. Additionally, you should have experience with tax research and analysis, proficiency in analyzing large datasets, and the ability to learn complex tax and industry concepts. Good managerial, organizational, project management, and communication skills are also necessary for this role.

Ideally, you will also have experience in IRS tax controversy and statistical sampling, as well as familiarity with current data analytics and visual tools such as MS Power BI, MS Power Pivot, MS Power Query, and Alteryx. A Big 4 comparable experience, certifications in Alteryx or Microsoft products, and an advanced degree such as MST, MSA, JD, or LLM are also desirable.

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $70,200 to $115,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $84,200 to $131,800. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined by various factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. We also offer a flexible vacation policy, allowing you to decide how much time off you need based on your personal circumstances.
