A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for its New York City office with a focus on mass tort, personal injury, or asbestos cases.

 

Job Overview:

  • Responsible for conducting depositions of fact and expert witnesses
  • Develop, send, and respond to discovery
  • Communicate effectively with clients
  • Research and draft motions and briefs
  • Work up asbestos-disease cases from intake to trial
  • Assist Supervising Attorney with case workup and motions
  • Conduct client and witness interviews
  • Depose witnesses and clients
  • Appear in court as needed
  • Assist with Plaintiff’s discovery preparation
  • Return and respond to client and defense counsel communication
  • Gather and analyze information from various records
  • Delegate assignments to team paralegals and legal assistants

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice Law in the State of New York (required) and State of New Jersey (preferred) and Pennsylvania (preferred)
  • 2-4 years of attorney experience
  • Experience in mass tort, personal injury, or asbestos cases preferred

 

Education:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

State Bar admission in New York (required), New Jersey (preferred), and Pennsylvania (preferred)

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
