A law firm in New York, NY, is seeking a Personal Injury Attorney with 3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, or civil litigation practice areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, modifying, and drafting motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents. Additionally, they will research case law and premises liability, gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case, and oversee personal injury case files from beginning to end. The Personal Injury Attorney will also serve as legal counsel on clients' behalf at hearings, mediations, trials, depositions, and litigation, evaluate potential personal injury claims, supervise a team of legal assistants, paralegals, case managers, and legal secretaries, and arrange suitable agreements and settlements when appropriate.

 

Duties:

  • Review, modify, and draft legal documents such as motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, claims, subpoenas, and memorandums
  • Research case law and premises liability
  • Gather evidence including insurance policies, medical expenses, and medical records
  • Update and maintain case files in the case management system
  • Serve as legal counsel at hearings, mediations, trials, depositions, and litigation
  • Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to legal support staff
  • Arrange agreements and settlements on behalf of clients

 

Requirements:

3 years of experience in personal injury litigation or trial experience in related practice areas

Admitted to the New York Bar

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to the New York Bar
