Job Overview:

The Insurance Defense Attorney will represent clients in insurance defense matters, including handling civil cases through trial, negotiations, client reporting, and other related tasks. The candidate must work effectively both independently and as part of a legal team and demonstrate a commitment to meeting clients' needs.

Duties:

  • Handle insurance defense cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, oral arguments, and mediations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written arguments.
  • Manage case files and ensure all deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • 5-12 years of experience practicing law, preferably in insurance defense.
  • Proficiency in handling civil cases through trial, including taking depositions, attending hearings, and negotiating settlements.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Currently licensed to practice law in Florida, additional licensure in other states is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida State Bar.
  • Additional certifications or memberships relevant to insurance defense law are desirable.
