A law firm in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to work directly with clients, advising them on estate planning objectives and drafting appropriate documents. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate matters.

 

Duties:

  • Understand clients' estate planning objectives and advise them on appropriate options.
  • Process and draft estate plans within one month of the initial meeting, using firm forms.
  • Provide tax and legal advice regarding advanced estate planning techniques, such as Charitable Remainder Trusts and Family Limited Partnerships, and draft relevant documents.
  • Proactively engage with clients regarding questions or updates to their estate plans.
  • Guide clients through estate plan signing meetings and advise on trust funding and maintenance.
  • Manage trust administration matters and the probate process for clients, advising on options and next steps.
  • Complete trust administration matters within 12 months, unless extenuating circumstances arise.
  • Complete probate matters within 12 months, obtaining pre-grants on petitions for probate and for final distribution, unless extenuating circumstances arise.
  • Communicate efficiently with clients, anticipating questions and keeping them informed of relevant steps in the process.
  • Supervise paralegal work related to relevant matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, and Probate matters.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of estate and income tax laws and regulations.
