A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Litigation Associate or Special Counsel Attorney to join their team in San Francisco. The Mid-Level Litigation Associate or Special Counsel Attorney will play a key role in the national and international maritime and insurance litigation practices. The ideal candidate should possess a strong litigation background, demonstrating expertise in proposing litigation strategy, effective communication with clients and opposing counsel, drafting reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions, as well as taking and defending depositions. This role requires an experienced attorney with 8-10 years of legal practice.

 

Duties:

  • Propose and execute effective litigation strategies.
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel throughout legal proceedings.
  • Draft reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Argue motions and actively participate in mediations and trials.

 

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of legal practice.
  • Admitted in good standing to the California State Bar.
  • Additional admissions in other states are a plus.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:

  • Strong litigation background.
  • Effective communication skills with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Proficiency in drafting reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions.
  • Ability to argue motions and actively participate in mediations and trials.
