H2: Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Legal Counsel – Wolters Kluwer Corporate Performance and Environmental, Social, and Governance (“CP & ESG”) business unit is looking for a qualified candidate to serve as the responsible attorney for, and provide legal advice and guidance on, a wide variety of commercial and contractual matters, specifically involving CP & ESG’s TeamMate products and related services.

The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of corporate/commercial legal experience, with experience at both a law firm and in-house being preferred but not required. They must have a bachelor’s degree and law degree (.) and be admitted to practice law in the state in which the assigned office is located. This is a full-time hybrid role, with a preferred office in Tampa, FL but consideration for candidates near other Wolters Kluwer . offices.

The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal counsel regarding a broad spectrum of corporate, commercial, privacy and regulatory matters impacting CP & ESG and specifically the TeamMate product. They will also structure, draft, negotiate, interpret, manage, and enforce all types of agreements, including customer agreements, vendor agreements and partner, joint venture and strategic alliance arrangements.

Other responsibilities include keeping CP & ESG’s business representatives and Managing Legal Counsel updated on significant legal developments, working cross-functionally with the Global Law and Compliance Department (“GCLD”) team, and supporting the GLCD’s M&A, regulatory, employment and litigation teams with respect to matters affecting CP & ESG TeamMate.

The ideal candidate will have a strong intellect, excellent legal acumen, and rigorous analytical skills. They should also have a general understanding of privacy laws and regulations applicable to CP & ESG’s business (or a willingness to learn), superior legal drafting and negotiating skills, and excellent communication and change management skills. The Legal Counsel must also possess unquestioned integrity and business ethics, a proactive and enthusiastic approach to all tasks, and the ability to handle a substantial workload under pressure.

This position offers a target salary range of $112,000-$156,650 for CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, and WA locations, and $100,800-$140,000 for all other locations. The Legal Counsel will also have the opportunity to work with a global and cross-functional team and travel when necessary or appropriate.
