Position Summary: Seeking a strategic and creative Tax Senior with experience in Unclaimed Property Tax to join our Unclaimed Property Tax group. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex state unclaimed property tax issues and make a significant impact on organizations by aligning the tax function with business objectives.

The Company: Deloitte's Multistate Tax Services (MTS) group is one of the largest State and Local Tax (SALT) practices in the United States, with over 1,000 professionals nationwide. Our team includes former state tax auditors and administrators, industry experts, tax practitioners, and technology professionals with extensive multistate tax experience. We provide a range of services including state income and franchise tax, indirect tax, unclaimed property, business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax outsourcing, excise tax, property tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy.

Job Title: Tax Senior, Unclaimed Property Tax

Location: Multiple locations across the United States (31 locations available)

Work You'll Do: As a Tax Senior in the Unclaimed Property Tax group, you will work on tax engagements and provide state tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industries. You will have the opportunity to continue to develop your technical knowledge in state taxation, receive exceptional training and resources, and develop your supervisory and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
- Provide the appropriate level of services for clients, whether they need to supplement an in-house unclaimed property team or outsource all their unclaimed property responsibilities
- Gain knowledge and experience with assessment, audit, or voluntary disclosure agreement processes
- Develop written communications for clients, legal counsel, and state representatives and facilitate verbal discussions
- Track client requests and submissions, and assist with record review
- Perform data analysis to identify potential unclaimed property risks
- Develop strategies to mitigate potential unclaimed property exposure for clients
- Aid in drafting final deliverables and reports for client and state submission
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Use a variety of tools and techniques to extract insights from industry trends
- Review work and provide feedback for quality, accuracy, and relevance
- Seek opportunities to gain exposure to different situations, environments, and perspectives
- Communicate effectively and influence others in a structured manner

Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to work within a hybrid work model that requires co-location in person 2-3 days per week
- 3+ years' experience in state and local tax; 1+ years' experience in Unclaimed Property tax
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- One of the following accreditations: licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA exam, licensed attorney, enrolled agent, or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner)
- Ability to travel up to 10% based on the work, clients, and industries/sectors served

Preferred:
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, or LLM
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm
- Supervisory experience

Salary Information:
- The wage range for this role takes into consideration factors such as skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for location differentials. At Deloitte, individuals are typically hired within the range for their role, and compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances.
- A reasonable estimate of the current range is $68,180 to $144,300.
