Job Description:

- Responsible for advising clients on tax implications and minimizing tax burden and compliance costs
- Acts as primary client contact for complex tax issues
- In charge of understanding potential tax issues and communicating potential risks and changes in tax policy
- Involved in marketing, networking, and business development within area of expertise
- May provide written tax advice to clients

Job Duties:

- Ensures clients comply with applicable authorities and minimizes tax and reporting burdens
- Conducts top level review of tax returns and resolves any issues with clients
- Plans and reviews tax process and procedures
- Manages client relationships and expectations
- Provides timely advice to clients
- Identifies when research is needed and reports analysis
- Applies professional standards for preparation of tax returns
- Correctly and proactively applies ASC 740-10 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals
- Explains and discusses income tax provision and uncertain tax positions with clients
- Communicates with Assurance counterparts for planning tax accrual reviews
- Utilizes and manages STS (Specialty Tax Services), as needed
- Assists with developing and implementing efficient and effective methods to maximize client benefits
- Considers applicability of consulting specialties for each client
- Develops and implements work plan for STS assistance
- Serves as a technical resource
- Ensures compliance with Firm policies regarding written tax advice
- Provides assistance with exam support
- Develops an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues and opportunities in one or more areas of taxation
- May organize and conduct internal CPE training sessions in area of specialization
- Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve client's position
- Reviews tax implications and offers alternative courses of action
- Identifies and leverages lessons learned from prior projects
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics (Master's preferred)
- Five or more years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in .), or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and tax research databases and compliance software
