Chubb is seeking an experienced attorney to join our House Counsel office in Atlanta, GA. This position will be responsible for defending casualty litigation on behalf of Chubb’s insureds in state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in litigating a variety of casualty insurance defense matters and possess a strong knowledge of state and federal procedural and substantive law.

Responsibilities

Defend casualty litigation in state and federal courts on behalf of Chubb’s insureds
Successfully litigate cases involving premises liability, construction accident liability, motor vehicle liability, product liability, contractual indemnity, and medical damages
Conduct and defend depositions and engage in pre-trial discovery
Draft pleadings and engage in motion practice
Research, brief, and argue appellate matters
Negotiate settlements and generate reports and evaluations on assigned cases
Proactively communicate with clients, claims staff, and other members of House Counsel

Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
Admitted to the practice of law in Georgia
5-10 years of experience litigating casualty insurance defense matters in state and federal courts
Strong knowledge of state and federal procedural and substantive law
Effective oral and written advocacy skills
Negotiation tactics
Analytical skills to address complex legal issues
