A law firm in Birmingham is seeking a Real Estate/Business Associate Attorney. The attorney will be responsible for conducting legal research, independently drafting transactional documents, attending client appointments, understanding client expectations and departmental goals, participating in special projects, and adhering to all standards of excellence in file management.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research independently
  • Draft transactional documents
  • Attend client appointments independently
  • Understand client expectations and departmental goals
  • Participate in special projects and committees
  • Complete all required administrative tasks
  • Make effective use of technology and automation
  • Adhere to all standards of excellence in file management
  • Travel as required to meet business needs
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies

 

Requirements:

  • Current license to practice law, in good standing with the Alabama Bar
  • Prior transactional experience in estate, business law, commercial transactions, and/or community association matters
  • Ability to record case time and expenses contemporaneously
  • Punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon office hours
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines efficiently
  • Strong research skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and file management software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Professional demeanor and presentation, in person and virtually
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • High ethical standards with a commitment to client confidentiality

 

Education & Experience:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • 3+ years of experience in real estate, business law, commercial transactions, and/or community associations
