Estate Settlement Officer III

Job Description:

The Estate Settlement Officer III position is responsible for managing and settling large, complex estates and terminating trusts. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and knowledge in estate and trust administration, as well as the ability to coach, develop, and mentor junior level officers and assistants within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Assign tasks to Settlement Assistants, monitor progress, and approve completed work
• Coach, develop, and mentor assistants and junior level officers within the Settlement team
• Build and maintain relationships with external business partners, such as attorneys, CPAs, and fiduciary accountants
• Coordinate communication with internal support partners, including Tax, Compliance, SAM, and ART, to ensure accurate and efficient administration and manage business risk
• Participate in sales calls, offering expertise in Estate Settlement
• Maintain high quality communications with beneficiaries to ensure client satisfaction and asset retention
• Act as a technical resource to colleagues both within and outside of the Settlement team

Requirements:

• BS/BA required, advanced degree or professional designation preferred
• Minimum of 2-3 years of personal trust/estate settlement/investment related experience
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
• Strong oral, written, and presentation abilities
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision while demonstrating teamwork and delivering client satisfaction
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel
• Knowledge of probate administration, fiduciary income tax, and estate taxes preferred
• Knowledge of Bank of America's proprietary trust systems a plus
• Position may require periodic overnight/multi-night travel
