Tax Senior, Business Tax Services - Tax-Exempt Salary Information: - The wage range for this role is estimated to be between $63,420 to $144,300, taking into account factors such as skill sets, experience, and certifications. - Eligibility for participation in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to program rules and individual and organizational performance. Job Title: - Tax Senior, Business Tax Services - Tax-Exempt Experience Information: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal taxation, with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations (501(c)(3)s and 501(c)(4)s) in industries such as health care providers, health plans, private foundations, and other non-profit organizations. - Previous experience in Big 4 or large CPA firms is preferred. - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM is preferred. Position Summary: - Tax Senior position within Deloitte's Business Tax Services Tax-Exempt practice. - Focus on providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to non-profit clients. - Opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients in various non-profit industries. - Access to a strong support system and elite group of specialists within the firm. - Interaction and collaboration with like-minded Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country. - Responsibilities include maintaining and developing client relationships, advising on tax issues, overseeing tax compliance and consulting projects, and managing the tax engagement team. What You'll Do: - Spend at least half (potentially 100%) of time serving non-profit clients such as health care providers, private foundations, public charities, higher educational institutions, and other non-profit organizations. - Provide tax compliance and consulting services including restructuring, acquisition planning, tax controversy, philanthropic tax planning, and more. - Work directly with sophisticated clients and manage the tax engagement team. - Have access to an elite group of specialists within the firm when needed. - Interact and collaborate with like-minded Tax-Exempt specialists from across the country on a regular basis. The Team: - Dedicated team of experienced professionals committed to serving non-profit organizations and sophisticated donors. - Comprised of PPMDS, as well as specialists in multi-state tax compliance, international tax compliance and consulting, and transfer tax planning. - Collaborates with Consulting, Audit & Assurance, and Advisory colleagues on client planning projects. - Some team members fully dedicated to serving non-profit clients, while others also specialize in Private Wealth or Corporate business tax services. - Deloitte's Global Center for Excellence in Philanthropy ("GCEP") is a cross-functional team comprised of tax, audit, and consulting professionals that serves innovative individuals, companies, and non-profits working towards societal change. - GCEP has decades of experience providing philanthropic tax advisory services to some of the wealthiest and most sophisticated donors in the world. Qualifications: Required: - Ability to work within a hybrid work model, requiring in-person co-location 2-3 days per week. - 3+ years of experience in federal taxation, with a strong emphasis on tax-exempt organizations. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field. - Active accreditation such as CPA, attorney, Enrolled Agent, CFA, or CFP. - Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
