Duties:

  • Assist with all aspects of litigation, from initial case evaluations to case budgeting.
  • Handle and assist with communications with clients, opposing parties, and affiliated parties.
  • Develop and implement case strategies and manage case schedules.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including preparing and responding to discovery requests.
  • Oversee e-discovery processes and defend or take depositions.
  • Manage motion practice at all stages of legal proceedings.
  • Handle hearings in federal and state court proceedings and arbitrations.
  • Conduct settlement conferences and mediations, including preparing strategy and settlement offers.
  • Prepare for and handle aspects of arbitrations and trials.
  • Utilize real estate litigation experience when applicable.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice in Oregon or eligible for reciprocity.
  • 4-6 years of general commercial litigation experience.
  • Proven experience in managing cases with minimal oversight.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Capacity to handle multiple cases simultaneously to meet client demands.
  • Excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking.
  • Real estate litigation experience is especially helpful.
  • A California license would be ideal.
  • Prior appellate experience would be ideal.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • State Bar admission in Oregon or eligibility for reciprocity.
