A law firm in Grand Rapids is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 5 years of civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of matters involving dispute resolution and will interact directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.

 

Duties:

  • Handle civil litigation matters from inception to resolution.
  • Collaborate with corporate, real estate, and probate attorneys on legal issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates and strategic advice.
  • Manage relationships with opposing counsel and court personnel.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience.
  • Transferable book of business (partial or full) is a positive attribute.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan or willing and able to become licensed.
  • Good standing with the Michigan State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings and conducting legal research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
