A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team in Farmington Hills. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the foreclosure process in the State of Vermont, ensuring all legal documentation is drafted and reviewed accurately. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for overseeing all stages of the judicial mortgage foreclosure process in the State of Vermont. This includes drafting and reviewing necessary documentation, representing mortgage lenders and/or servicers, and providing legal counsel to clients throughout the foreclosure proceedings.

 

Duties:

  • Oversee and work closely with support staff in drafting and reviewing all documentation necessary for judicial mortgage foreclosure in Vermont.
  • Handle related matters such as debt disputes and defense to counterclaim and other actions to enjoin foreclosure.
  • Manage all stages of the foreclosure process from demand to recording of foreclosure deeds.
  • Represent the interests of mortgage lenders and/or servicers in Vermont foreclosure proceedings.
  • Review all statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes efficiently and effectively.
  • Attend and argue motions and other hearings before the courts.
  • Attend mediation sessions related to foreclosure proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel to foreclosure clients throughout the process.
  • Communicate with large and complex clients regarding legal matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the State of Vermont is required; admission in other New England states is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle large and complex clients effectively.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of foreclosure laws and procedures in the State of Vermont.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
