Role and Responsibilities: - Provide legal support to KPMG's Office of General Counsel (OGC) in the Litigation group, specifically on the Practice Protection Team. - Counsel on actual and threatened civil litigation, third-party subpoenas, and other legal processes, as well as regulatory or government investigations. - Represent KPMG in civil litigation proceedings and regulatory investigations, providing legal advice to the Firm and its leaders. - Develop, implement, and manage strategies and tactics for successful and cost-effective resolution of litigation claims and regulatory investigations. - Supervise and work with outside counsel and other members of OGC to provide high-quality legal representation. - Report and consult with the Vice Chair for Legal, Regulatory & Compliance/General Counsel and the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation on issues arising in litigation and regulatory matters. - Assist in developing financial projections for supervised matters. Qualifications: - Minimum eighteen years of recent experience in well-regarded law firm(s) or in-house legal department, with experience in defending complex civil litigations and regulatory investigations. - JD or LLM from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the . - Experience within the Division of Enforcement of either the SEC or PCAOB or a similar regulatory or law enforcement agency directing investigations focusing on accounting or other professional liability issues is a plus. - Able to manage multiple litigations, investigations, and projects simultaneously with strategic thinking, high ethical standards, and integrity. - Excellent analytical, writing, interpersonal, communication, and client counseling skills. - Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to build strong business partnerships. - Client-service orientation with the capability to create effective working relationships cross-functionally. - Commitment to driving diversity, equity, and inclusion at the group, enterprise, industry, or community level.
