A law firm located in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Public Finance Counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 9 years of experience in public finance, tax credits, and/or real estate finance, preferably working as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, and/or developer/borrower counsel. This role will also involve general real estate and corporate governance practice.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and expertise in public finance, tax credits, and real estate finance.
  • Serve as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, and developer/borrower counsel in various transactions.
  • Collaborate with state and local governments, underwriters, and banks on tax-exempt financing and tax credit matters.
  • Handle general real estate and corporate governance practice as needed.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and due diligence.
  • Draft legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients on complex financial and real estate transactions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree.
  • Admitted to the State Bar in Texas or eligibility for prompt admission.
  • A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong background in public finance, tax credits, and real estate finance.
  • Experience working with state and local governments, underwriters, and banks.
  • Proficiency in corporate governance and real estate practice.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a legal team.
