Duties:

  • Represent lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate credit transactions.
  • Address common issues in CRE finance, including structuring, drafting, and negotiating transactions.
  • Draft and perfect security interests, including reviewing title insurance policies and drafting title objection letters.
  • Provide a practical understanding of issues related to the acquisition, transfer, development, financing, and use of commercial real estate.
  • Handle financial and accounting issues related to fixed-income debt.
  • Represent banks or private/public lenders in fixed-income first or second lien commercial real estate transactions.
  • Work on other commercial real estate issues, such as commercial leases, drafting deeds of trust, and investment transactions.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience focusing on commercial real estate credit transactions.
  • Familiarity with industry solutions to CRE finance transactions.
  • Understanding of drafting and perfecting security interests.
  • Practical knowledge of issues in the acquisition, transfer, development, and financing of commercial real estate.
  • Familiarity with financial and accounting issues related to fixed-income debt.
  • Current experience representing banks or private/public lenders in commercial real estate transactions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • An active member in good standing with the Texas Bar.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
