Southwire is looking to hire an experienced Senior Counsel, Employment and Labor Law to provide advice and counsel to the Company on a broad range of employment and labor legal issues and manage disputes against Southwire and its affiliated and subsidiary companies. This individual must have a Doctorate, Juris Doctorate from . accredited law school, state bar membership in good standing in at least one state, and 10+ years of related experience in Employment and Labor Law. Key Responsibilities: • Provide sound legal advice and counsel to Southwire in complex . and international employment and labor law matters affecting day-to-day operations. • Manage employment and labor disputes, including lawsuits and complaints filed with federal, state, and local agencies. • Assist in the development and implementation of People and Culture processes and policies to address company needs and legal requirements. • Support the Total Rewards Team responsible for health & welfare, retirement and compensation benefits. • Conduct Merger & Acquisition Employment and Labor Law Due Diligence and Integration • Lead, support and advise on workplace investigations. • Draft and negotiate various employment related agreements. • Partner with the business to assess legal risks and develop strategic solutions to protect the Company’s interests. • Effectively oversee outside counsel. • Manage a high-volume of legal projects. Qualifications and Experience: • Doctorate, Juris Doctorate from . accredited law school • State bar membership in good standing in at least one state • 10+ yrs related experience, Employment and Labor Law • Outstanding communication skills (both oral and written) • Excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to meet deadlines, possess pragmatic business judgment, work independently and collaboratively and efficiently under time pressure.
