Job Summary:
BDO, a leading accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a Customs and International Trade Associate to join their team. This role will involve utilizing research skills and applying educational background to identify potential trade issues and opportunities for clients in a variety of industries. The Associate will work closely with experienced team members and have the opportunity to mentor interns as well.

Job Duties:
- Conduct research and provide advice on international trade matters, including Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, and customs valuation
- Identify potential trade savings opportunities and assist in drafting tax alerts
- Collaborate with other BDO specialists and client service teams
- Establish relationships with BDO customs experts globally
- Manage client expectations and assist in managing a team of tax professionals
- Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Juris Doctorate degree, LLM, and/or MBA preferred
- Experience in tax, legal, customs, or import/export trade preferred
- Internship within a professional services firm preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with RIA, BNA, and Lexis Nexis
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work independently or in a team environment
- Basic understanding of technical and practical issues in taxation and law

Salary Information:
Individual salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. BDO offers competitive salaries in the following ranges:
- California: $65,000 - $110,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $76,000 - $110,000
- Washington: $65,000 - $110,000
