Overview

Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell, a growing national specialized law firm, is looking for a Senior Associate Attorney to join its projects-oriented team. The successful candidate will be part of the Firm’s nationwide Airports practice and will also support its Public-Private Partnerships and Alternative Project Delivery practice. The Senior Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to work directly with clients and partners on negotiating and drafting agreements for a wide variety of complex airport commercial transactions and will be expected to advise clients on federal regulatory requirements. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $185,000 - $225,000 commensurate with experience.


Responsibilities

The Senior Associate Attorney will be expected to:

Negotiate and draft agreements supporting a wide variety of complex airport commercial transactions, including airline use and lease agreements, the construction and operation of consolidated rental car facilities, aviation fueling facilities, and other aeronautical and nonaeronautical real estate development.
Advise clients nationwide on federal regulatory requirements regarding airport development, airport finance, construction, procurement, and environmental matters, ranging from the largest airports in the world to small general aviation facilities.
Have opportunities for periodic travel to attend client meetings and industry conferences.
Demonstrate exceptional writing, legal drafting, analytical, negotiating, and advocacy skills, and an ability to professionally interact with clients and colleagues.
Adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment to successfully multi-task and manage deadlines and proactively address client matters.
Demonstrate an ability to think through complex legal and business issues and work collaboratively to advise our clients on creative means of achieving their objectives.
Take initiative by being action-oriented, immediately responsible for and responsive to your client, delegating intelligently, and seeking opportunities for personal improvement.


Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

7 or more years of relevant transactional or regulatory experience.
Law degree from an accredited law school.
Admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction (CO, NY, DC, or CA, preferred).


Additional qualifications that will stand out from other candidates include:

Experience with the federal regulatory framework in which airports operate, or with other transportation regulations and/or federal transportation agencies (., . DOT, FAA, FRA, FTA, FHWA, STB and Build America Bureau).
Experience drafting bespoke agreements and other documents supporting innovative commercial transactions with multiple parties and complex financing arrangements.
Experience with airport operations, airport law, and/or other aspects of aviation.
Demonstrated interest (professional or personal) in public infrastructure, aviation, transportation, public policy, and/or related matters.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a collegial, team-focused approach to legal practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and attentively listen, actively engage, and effectively communicate complex matters.


Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time position with a salary range of $185,000 - $225,000 commensurate with experience. We offer medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, STD, LTD, group term life insurance, 401(k), flexible PTO, and parental leave. The Firm will also cover some public transportation costs.
