Job Title: Director, Global Transaction Tax (Federal) Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 annually Experience: CPA, JD, Masters in Taxation, or LLM and experience in mergers and acquisitions tax practice Location: Chicago, IL, United States Director, Global Transaction Tax (Federal) is a key position at A&M, a group of entrepreneurial professionals who take a hands-on approach to solving clients' problems and shaping the industry. The role offers opportunities for growth and development, a collaborative and engaging work culture, and a chance to work without audit conflict as a trusted business advisor. The Director will be responsible for providing practical tax advice to corporate and private equity buyers and sellers throughout the transaction life cycle. Responsibilities: - Demonstrate an understanding of complex tax concepts and apply tax knowledge to client situations. - Develop and deliver quality tax planning approaches with timely and responsive services that meet and exceed client expectations. - Perform due diligence, including reviewing tax returns and other tax documentation to evaluate potential risks and opportunities. - Review and comment on tax aspects of financial models and purchase agreements. - Coordinate with state and local and international tax team members, as well as financial and operational due diligence team members, to deliver high-quality work. - Develop and maintain client relationships. Qualifications: - CPA, JD (with bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred), Masters in Taxation, or LLM. - Experience in a mergers and acquisitions tax practice. - Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting. - Strong writing, analytical, research, excel, and organizational skills. - Strong communication, presentation, project management, and business development skills. - Strong sense of personal motivation and ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment. Salary Information: - The salary range is $150,000 - $200,000 annually, dependent on several variables including education, experience, skills, and geography. - A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
