Responsibilities:

- Lead counsel to regional . Medical Network contracting teams
- Provide day-to-day legal support for network management
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex provider agreements
- Manage provider disputes and pre-litigation matters
- Collaborate with key legal, compliance, and business partners
- Assist with review of provider termination notices
- Effectively collaborate with internal partners

Qualifications:

- Law degree and JD with bar membership
- 8-10 years of experience in corporate legal department or law firm
- Strong analytical and contract writing skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
- Demonstrated good judgment and ability to take on difficult projects
- Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders and team members

Hybrid Role:

- 50% in office, 50% remote
- Must have internet connection with minimum speeds of 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload

As Associate Senior Counsel for the US Commercial Medical Network, you will provide strategic legal advice and counsel for a region of the Cigna US Commercial Medical Network contracting team. This is a hybrid role, with 50% of the time in the office and 50% remote.

Responsibilities:

As the Lead Counsel to regional . Medical Network contracting teams, you will support Regional Vice Presidents, Regional Directors, and Provider Contracting Directors across multiple states to ensure strategic business goals are met. You will also provide day-to-day legal support for network management, including strategy and advice on contracting approaches and considerations, interpretation of contract terms and alternative approaches, and compliance with Cigna policies.

In addition, you will draft, review, and negotiate complex provider agreements with an understanding of business implications, risks, and potential regulatory or third-party contractual considerations. You will also manage provider disputes and pre-litigation matters, collaborating with key legal, compliance, and business partners to address claims or contract issues and regulatory concerns.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have a law degree and at least 8-10 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, with a demonstrated background in medical provider contracting and the health care managed care/insurance industry. You should also have strong analytical and contract writing skills, as well as the ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
