A law firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Lateral Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Data Innovation Associate Attorney with 4-9 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have strong privacy, cybersecurity, and/or technology company experience, including regulatory compliance counseling, government investigations, and related litigation matters. Experience with Federal Trade Commission consumer protection-related regulatory matters is desirable.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on privacy, cybersecurity, and data innovation matters.
  • Conduct regulatory compliance counseling for clients, including technology companies.
  • Assist in government investigations related to privacy and cybersecurity issues.
  • Handle related litigation matters, including disputes involving data breaches and privacy violations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including privacy policies, terms of use, and data processing agreements.
  • Advise clients on data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA compliance.
  • Stay updated on developments in privacy and cybersecurity laws and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop effective strategies for managing privacy and cybersecurity risks.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in New York.
  • 4-9 years of experience in privacy, cybersecurity, and data innovation law.
  • Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance counseling and government investigations.
  • Familiarity with Federal Trade Commission consumer protection-related regulatory matters.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in New York.

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection laws.
