Job Overview:

The General Litigation Associate Attorney will handle various aspects of civil litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, managing discovery, trial preparation, and providing trial assistance.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and parties.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witnesses, and trial binders.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with clients and colleagues.
  • File pleadings with State and Federal courts.
  • Appear in Court for hearings, conferences, and trials.

Requirements:

  • 1-10 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Experience in filing pleadings with State and Federal courts.
  • Admission to practice in the State of Pennsylvania is required.
  • Admission to practice in West Virginia and Ohio is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the State of Pennsylvania.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research methods and resources.
  • Ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple deadlines effectively.
