A law firm in Dallas is seeking a qualified Energy Regulatory Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.

 

Job Details:

  • Handle regulatory and compliance matters before the Texas Public Utility Commission and other state energy regulatory commissions.
  • Manage matters before or involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) or other ISO/RTOs or organized power markets.
  • Advocate before state utility commissions, or handle power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, power sales, and related matters.
  • Utilize expertise in energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance.
  • Effectively handle multiple projects with superior judgment.
  • Articulate legal strategies and courses of action.
  • Work collaboratively with a team.
  • Maintain an active Bar license in the state.

 

Requirements:

Strong academic record in law.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Experience:

4-5 years of energy transactional and/or regulatory litigation and compliance experience.

 

Skills:

  • Experience with regulatory matters before state energy commissions.
  • Familiarity with matters involving ERCOT or other ISO/RTOs.
  • Advocacy experience before state utility commissions.
  • Knowledge of power transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and power sales.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team.
  • Superior judgment and ability to handle multiple projects.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar license in the state.
