Florida Attorney General's Internship Program: Gain Practical Experience in Law

Organization Overview:

The Office of the Attorney General for the State of Florida serves as the attorney for the state and is a member of the Florida Cabinet. The office is responsible for prosecuting specific crimes that impact two or more judicial circuits in the state, working closely with state and federal counterparts. The Attorney General also works closely with law enforcement and State Attorneys to coordinate the prosecution of multi-circuit violations of state law.

Internship Overview:

The Office of the Attorney General offers law student internships for academic credit during the fall, spring, and summer terms. These internships provide students with the opportunity to gain practical experience in a legal field and contribute meaningful work towards the completion of their degree. Interns must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week and may be placed in various locations throughout Florida.

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled in an accredited ABA law school
- Eligible to receive academic credit or participating in a law school sponsored program (. Pro Bono Programs, Law School sponsored clinics, Law School Paid Stipend programs)
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week
- 2nd and 3rd year law students may be required to provide a writing sample at the time of the interview, if selected

Application Deadlines:

- Summer: January 31 (extended to March 1 for 2024)
- Fall: June 30
- Spring: September 30
