The ideal candidate should have a degree in electrical engineering or computer science, along with 2+ years of relevant experience. The candidate should demonstrate high academic achievement, strong law firm experience, and excellent writing and communication skills. Specialized experience in patent prosecution within electrical engineering, software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies (especially network security), and machine learning/artificial intelligence (in addition to data science) and hardware security is highly encouraged. The successful candidate must hold a JD and be admitted to the USPTO.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities in the specified technical areas, including electrical engineering, software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies (with a focus on network security), machine learning/artificial intelligence, and hardware security.
  • Perform legal research and analysis related to patent law and specific technical domains.
  • Collaborate with clients, inventors, and senior attorneys to gather information and build strong patent portfolios.
  • Draft and file patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice and opinions on intellectual property matters.

 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the USPTO.
