Introduction:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with both domestic and international clients, while providing global solutions for their data protection and privacy needs. As a subject matter expert and engagement leader, you will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing new opportunities, and ensuring quality work product is delivered on-time and on-budget.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As the Director of PDP, you will be responsible for:

Developing global data protection and privacy strategies for client C-suite/board
Building cross-cultural functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
Managing project teams and ensuring BDO projects are on-time and on-budget
Providing detailed information to clients on domestic and global privacy laws
Establishing new relationships to drive new opportunities for BDO
Complying with BDO’s Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
Managing and maintaining relationships with client professionals
Ensuring clients receive timely and thoughtful responses to inquiries
Building relationships with other BDO professionals and cross-selling into different industries and services
Updating CRM to ensure accurate pipeline reporting
Reviewing client reports and providing feedback to team members
Developing proposals and responding to RFPs/RFIs
Utilizing knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans
Conducting interviews and meetings with various business units
Proofreading and editing executive reports
Mentoring team members to ensure consistency and BDO standards are applied
Managing multiple large, complex, and long-term engagements
Managing client expectations at all levels
Supporting the Data Protection Officer for clients
Developing and managing project budgets
Acting as a leader and maintaining a professional attitude towards clients and firm personnel
Managing a team of professionals
Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

As the Director, you will also have supervisory responsibilities, including:

Ensuring team members are trained on relevant software and processes
Evaluating performance and providing feedback to team members
Acting as a mentor to team members

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree, required
Master’s, Juris Doctorate, or MBA, preferred

Experience:

Ten (10) or more years of consulting experience, required
Three (3) or more years of data protection or privacy experience, required
Experience working with Fortune 500 clients, preferred
Five (5) or more years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects, required

License/Certification:

One (1) or more of the following privacy certifications, required:
CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE or other privacy certifications
OneTrust, TrustArc, or other privacy enabled technology solutions, preferred

Software:

OneTrust, BigID, and other privacy and GRC software
Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Visio, required
Knowledge of database systems, software development lifecycle, and technology company operations, preferred

Language:

Multilingual capabilities (read, speak, and/or write), preferred

Salary Information:

Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined after consideration of factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. The salary range for this position is as follows:

California: $200,000 - $225,000
Colorado: $200,000 - $225,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $200,000 - $225,000
Washington: $200,000 - $225,000
