Job Overview:

The Estates And Trusts Associate Attorney will provide analysis and counsel to clients on legal and tax issues relating to estate planning and administration. They will perform legal research, offer support for disputes, and incorporate tax planning strategies. The role involves representing clients in legal proceedings, drafting documents, and advising on retirement and medical care planning.

Duties:

  • Provide analysis and counsel on legal and tax issues relating to estate planning and administration.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to identify and mitigate legal risks.
  • Offer support for disputes involving fiduciary responsibility, estates, trusts, and family matters.
  • Incorporate estate and income tax planning strategies, including trusts and wills.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, primarily in Orphan’s Court.
  • Counsel clients on long-term retirement and medical care planning.
  • Prepare inheritance and federal estate tax returns.
  • Draft various legal documents, including sales agreements, deeds, wills, and estate plan documents.

Requirements:

  • License to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • Degree from an accredited law school.
  • 1-4 years of experience in estate law preferred.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, cooperation, and teamwork.

Skills:

  • Experience in estate law litigation preferred.
  • Experience drafting estate planning documents desired.
  • Experience with direct client contact is a plus.
  • Experience with iManage document management system desired.
  • Experience filing court documents electronically preferred.
  • Active Notary license desired.
