A law firm is seeking an experienced and dedicated Associate Attorney to join its team. The successful candidate will handle cases throughout the State of Texas, requiring occasional travel. They will receive top-notch mentorship to expand their litigation skills and engage in effective client development. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow as a trial attorney.

Duties:

  • Handle cases throughout the State of Texas, involving occasional travel.
  • Receive mentorship to expand litigation skills and engage in client development.
  • Prepare and file legal documents in both state and federal courts, including e-filings.
  • Prepare trial and hearing documents in both state and federal courts.
  • Stay up-to-date on developing case law.
  • Conduct research and prepare memorandums.
  • Provide case analysis and strategy for active matters.
  • Manage document control and data management in production and discovery.
  • Prepare and finalize letters, pleadings, motions, etc.
  • Handle case management from open to close.
  • Communicate directly with courts, clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the firm.
  • Achieve 1800 collected hours and dedicate 200 hours to firm investment (including business development).

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.
  • Preferred experience in insurance defense.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn valuable courtroom skills.
  • Ability to take direction, communicate with clients, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and case analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
