A law firm is seeking a Trademark Attorney for their Ann Arbor office. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on trademark law. They should possess strong client management skills, be adept at conducting trademark searches and prosecuting trademark applications, and have experience in trademark-related litigation.

 

Duties:

  • Cultivate and generate new client relationships
  • Manage new and existing client relationships
  • Conduct preliminary and comprehensive trademark availability searches
  • Prepare and prosecute . trademark applications and related documents
  • Prosecute international trademarks via various protocols and correspond with foreign associates and trademark offices
  • Manage brand policing efforts, including review of trademark watch notices and research on potential infringers
  • Handle TTAB actions and correspond with foreign associates regarding similar actions overseas
  • Assist with trademark-related litigation in state and federal courts
  • Prepare and file Post-Registration Maintenance documents
  • Design, recommend, and implement processes to enhance group efficiency
  • Complete domain name registrations, transfers, and conduct UDRP actions
  • Manage the trademark docket system and work with related software and personnel

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • 5-10 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a focus on trademark law
  • Admission to practice law in the District of Columbia or state of Michigan and the USPTO
  • Strong intellect and quick grasp of complex legal issues
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work as needed
  • Good organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in online legal research services and resources
  • Superior legal writing and oral communication skills

 

Certifications:

Admittance to the USPTO is required
