Overview:
- Responsible for legal work of DOI
- Nearly 200 attorneys in headquarters office and over 300 attorneys nationwide
- Mission of conservation and impact on millions of people's lives
- Diverse workload including extensive litigation and program counseling
- Opportunities for law students to gain practical experience in advising agencies and participating in civil litigation
- Unique responsibilities to support Department's programs for American Indians and Alaska Natives

Salary: Intern positions are unpaid, but eligible for Transit Subsidy Benefit Program

Qualifications:
- Must be a student
- Eligible students include undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time, public policy graduate students, and first-year (second semester), second- and third-year law students
- Law school graduates enrolled in graduate law programs (., . programs) at least half-time are also eligible
- All students must be in good academic standing and provide official documentation from their school
- First-year, first-semester law students may apply after December 1 for internships the following summer
