A law firm based in Philadelphia, PA, is actively seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice/Trial Attorney to represent clients in major jury trials. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in medical malpractice, complex civil litigation, or personal injury and must be licensed in Pennsylvania. The Medical Malpractice/Trial Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in major jury trials involving medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and professional malpractice claims. The role includes taking and defending depositions, preparing clients for deposition and trial, drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements, and preparing cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial. The attorney will also educate clients about their legal rights and responsibilities throughout the process, prepare and file court documents, and handle court hearings and events.

 

Job Details:

  • Represent clients in major jury trials for medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and professional malpractice claims.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Prepare clients for deposition and trial.
  • Draft legal documents.
  • Negotiate settlements.
  • Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial.
  • Educate clients about their legal rights and responsibilities.
  • Prepare and file court documents.
  • Attend court hearings and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have experience working with experts and taking expert depositions.
  • Must be licensed in Pennsylvania; licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey preferred.
  • Experience with depositions, drafting and arguing motions, drafting pleadings, and discovery.
  • Prepare witnesses and experts for depositions and trials.
  • Plaintiff side experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Experience:

5+ years of litigation experience in medical malpractice, complex civil litigation, or personal injury.
