Insurance Defense Attorney - Represent Liberty Mutual in Civil Litigation and Workers' Compensation Matters

Salary Range: $72, - $117, per year

Position Overview:

As an Insurance Defense Attorney at Liberty Mutual, you will be responsible for representing the company and its policyholders in moderately complex civil litigation and workers' compensation matters. This role offers a competitive starting salary, with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the entire legal process, including investigation, discovery, trial preparation, and court proceedings
- Represent clients in depositions, site inspections, court hearings, and negotiations
- Develop and implement legal strategies for all stages of litigation
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
- Conduct training sessions for Legal, Claims, and other departments
- Provide clear and concise legal opinions and draft legal documents

Qualifications:

- Membership in the Michigan Bar
- Minimum of one year of experience as an attorney
- Special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay organized
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of insurance law preferred
- Proficiency with technology and remote work

Education:

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
