Job Overview:

The General Liability Associate Attorney will provide legal representation to clients in matters related to general liability. This role involves extensive legal research, drafting various legal documents, representing clients in court proceedings, and collaborating with expert witnesses. The ideal candidate will have solid analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.

Duties:

  • Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
  • Maintain an annual billable amount of 1950 hours
  • Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses
  • Prepare for trials and attend as required
  • It may involve occasional travel

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1+ year of experience in general liability; experience in other practice areas is a plus
  • . degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Missouri; admission in other states is advantageous
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research abilities and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Prompt responsiveness to e-mail and phone inquiries
  • Excellent client-handling skills and telephone etiquette
